When registering, we collect your mobile phone number (required for real-name verification), nickname, profile picture, and password. You may also optionally provide your gender, date of birth, and personal bio. Functions including live streaming, recharging, and withdrawals require real-name verification, for which we collect your legal name and ID card number.
If you log in via an authorised third-party platform account, you authorise us to obtain the public information registered on that platform (such as your profile picture, nickname, and any other information you authorise).
When you go live, we request access to your camera and microphone and collect audio/video data for real-time streaming. This data is transmitted via the Agora SDK, processed on servers within Mainland China, and does not cross borders. Live recordings are retained for the legally required period.
When you use one-to-one chat, we process message content via the Tencent Cloud IM SDK for message delivery and content safety review (to prevent illegal or prohibited content). Message content is deleted after the legally required retention period.
Streamers applying to go live must complete real-name verification. We collect your front and back of ID card, facial photo, and liveness detection data, which are processed by the Baidu AI SDK and Google MLKit (local processing only; data does not cross borders). The collection and use of facial recognition data is subject to a separate informed consent form, available on the verification page.
When you publish content, we request access to your photo library and camera, and upload content to cloud storage via the Qiniu Cloud SDK. Pre-upload caching may occur; you may disable this feature.
When you use filters, effects, stickers, or other creative tools to record content, we access device sensors including the accelerometer, gyroscope, and gravity sensor to adapt the effects to your actions. When you play back videos, we also use gravity and acceleration sensors to detect device orientation (portrait or landscape) for an optimal viewing experience. Raw sensor data is not personal information and is not uploaded or retained.
We request GPS location permission to collect your geographic location for the purpose of optimising content recommendations (e.g. local or nearby content). You may decline to grant location permission; doing so will not affect your access to core features.
When you recharge or purchase Stardust, we collect recharge order details and payment channel data (e.g. Alipay order number, WeChat Pay order number, Apple IAP receipt) for order confirmation, customer support, and financial compliance. Payment is processed by Alipay, WeChat Pay, or Apple, each subject to their own privacy policies.
When you send virtual gifts, we record gift order information (gift type, quantity, time, recipient) for order management and dispute resolution.
To improve product experience and to recommend content you may find interesting, we collect browsing, click, dwell time, and search keyword data via the Umeng SDK. Combined with your device information and account profile, we use algorithms to analyse your interests and preferences in order to provide personalised content recommendations.
We may also display your online status (whether you are online or the time you were last online) to users who mutually follow you, to facilitate interaction between friends.
To ensure service security and normal operation, we automatically collect your device model, OS version, unique device identifier (Android: AndroidID/OAID; iOS: IDFV), IP address, network type, app version, crash logs, and operation logs.
On iOS, the App reads clipboard content locally only when you actively paste (e.g. to recognise an invite code or share command). Clipboard content is never uploaded to our servers.
We send notifications via JPush, Huawei Push (including the Huawei Performance Acceleration Library), vivo Push, Xiaomi Push, OPPO Push, and Honor Push SDKs, which require collection of device identifiers and push tokens. You may disable App notifications in your device system settings.
When you contact customer support, we may ask for account information and identity verification, and retain your communications with our support team for issue resolution and service quality improvement.
We combine your behavioural data, device information, location, and account profile, and use algorithms to analyse your interests and preferences in order to recommend videos, live streams, and other content you may find interesting.
You may turn off personalised recommendations at any time at [Me] → [Settings] → [Privacy Control] → [Personalised Recommendations]. Once disabled, we will no longer recommend personalised content or ads based on your behavioural preferences.
We may deliver promotional content (advertisements) to you, including ads personalised to your interests and general non-targeted ads.
We may share information with advertising partners, using technical measures to match ads to your interests without directly identifying you as an individual. We may also share aggregated audience profiles or statistical data with service providers; such data cannot be readily linked to your real identity. You may long-press on any ad to provide feedback on your interests, which helps us serve more relevant ads over time.
To provide certain features, we integrate third-party SDKs. The purpose, data types collected, and privacy policy links for each SDK are set out in the Third-Party SDK Privacy List.
